Travel resources for Asia: eSIMs, transfers and trip tools

Where to get mobile data in ten countries, who to book a private transfer with in each region of Thailand, which government sites are the official ones, and a few neutral planning tools.

Updated · Checked against official sources

This directory lists 11 eSIM stores (one for each of ten Asian countries plus a multi-country parent store), the 22 private-transfer sites of the Smile Taxi Service network in Thailand grouped by region, the official Thai government sites for entry, trains, airports and tour licences, and five third-party planning tools. The eSIM stores and transfer sites are affiliated with Asia Travel Forum; the government sites and tools are not.

Where do I buy an eSIM for each country in Asia?

Short answer: each country store sells data-only eSIMs for one destination plus regional plans, paid once by PayPal, with the QR code sent by email; the plan starts at the first connection in that country. The eSIM guide explains phone compatibility and setup.

Frequently asked questions

Are all the Thai transfer sites in this directory run by the same company?

Yes. All 22 are booking sites of Smile Taxi Service, with the same terms: a fixed price per vehicle including tolls, nothing charged when you book, and payment to the driver at the end. They are affiliated with Asia Travel Forum.

Which website is the official one for Thailand's arrival card?

Only tdac.immigration.go.th, run by the Immigration Bureau (the THIM app is the optional alternative). Filing there is free; sites that ask for a fee are unofficial look-alikes.

Which eSIM store should I use for a trip through several countries?

Choose a regional plan that names every country on your route; the country stores and the parent store, eSIM Hub, sell them. If you visit only one country, that country's store is the simplest choice.

How can I check that a Thai tour company is licensed?

Search its name or licence number on the Department of Tourism's licence check. Licences are issued by the Department of Tourism, not by the TAT, and they cover guides as well as companies.
